Olive Oil, was written & directed by Zeta in 2019. Being Greek, olive oil has always been a big part of her life, and culture. Living abroad, its concept got her thinking: there is something quite magnificent about good olive oil, mystical almost. It is deeply related to nature and tradition. It carries a variety of symbolisms for many years now from various cultures. Its beauty lies in its simplicity, and its special nature. Its colour and smell is distinct, and strong.
I believe we live in a world full of beautiful strong humans. Their “purity” lies in them being true to themselves. I felt olive oil could provide for an analogy to human nature itself, to sexuality, and to being. It is the 'holiest' of oils. And maybe even the most 'scandalous' one.
